This is normally caused by improperly configured modem settings. Be sure that you have correctly configured the modem. Our gateway requires your paging terminals to use (7 data bits, Even parity, 1 stop bits) with V.22 modulation and preferred Baud rate of 1200 / 2400. Please make sure that error correction and data compression are disabled. Please ask your sales account manager for the TAP setup guide.
Your sales account manager will provide you with a phone number.
TAP only supports one way alphanumeric messaging. We do offer other paging gateways that use SNPP, WCTP, SMTP and other protocols that support 2-way messaging including replies and delivery notification. You can learn more at here or contact your sales account manager.
We support all US & Canadian carriers as well as migration from paging services of Verizon, AT&T and others. Messages are delivered as SMS text messages to the destination mobiles.
The TAP numbers we provide are located in New Jersey. Please make sure the phone service connected to your TAP modem is capable of calling to New Jersey.
No. TAP requires you to use traditional TDM phone lines for the calls provided by your local phone company.
When programming your service and modem to call please make sure to include the outside line digit and long distance 1 to call to our servers. For example, if you need to press 9 to get an outside line you would program to call 9-1-<10 digit TAP access number we provide>.
